Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Fly from London to Hanoi

   Overnight flight from London to Hanoi

2. Day 2

   Hanoi - Arrival

   Xin chao! Welcome to Hanoi, Vietnam. Upon arrival, our private tour guide and vehicle will welcome you at the airport and then we transfer to the city center (approx.. 1 hours drive). Back to hotel, check in then overnight in Hanoi. (Hotel check-in time is around 14.00; program adjusted per arrival time.)

3. Day 3

   Hanoi city tour

   Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house-on-stilts, and One-Pillar pagoda. Visit Temple of Literature (built 1076). Afternoon rickshaw tour through Quarter of 36 Guilds, walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, visit Ngoc Son temple, experience egg coffee at local shop. Overnight in Hanoi.

4. Day 4

   Hanoi - Ha Long Bay

   After breakfast at the hotel, leave Hanoi then we will head to Halong Bay, a Natural World Heritage as designated by UNESCO since 1994 and 2006, and check-in our overnight boat. Trip with cave visits, swimming, sunset viewing. Fresh seafood dinner. Overnight onboard. (Itinerary subject to weather changes; English-speaking cruise manager provided.)

5. Day 5

   Ha Long Bay - Hanoi - Flight to Da Nang - Hoi An

   Early sunrise viewing and Tai Chi lesson. Continued cruise through heritage areas. Visit Dark & Bright grotto. Brunch onboard. Return to Noi Bai Airport, flight to Danang, transfer to Hoi An hotel. Overnight in Hoi An.

6. Day 6

   Hoi An

   Bicycle tour of Tra Que Vegetable Village (150 farmers cultivate 20 vegetable/herb types). Learn cultivation methods, participate in gardening activities, foot soak with herbal remedy. Prepare lunch with local family—learn spring rolls and banh xeo pancakes. Afternoon cycling back to ancient town, walk Japanese Bridge, visit Chinese Assembly Halls, ancient houses, market by Thu Bon River. Shopping for lanterns, silk, tailoring. Overnight in Hoi An.

7. Day 7

   Hoi An – Train to Hue

   After breakfast, you will overland from Hoi An to Da Nang station then catch Heritage train to Hue (apprx. 3-4 hours). Scenic views of coastal cliffs, mountains, villages along Hai Van Pass. Meet driver in Hue, check in hotel. Overnight in Hue.

8. Day 8

   Hue culture exploration

   Visit Imperial Citadel (19th century, UNESCO World Heritage site). Food tour at Dong Ba Market sampling bánh bèo, bún bò Huế, nem lụi, chè, sugarcane juice. Visit Minh Mang Tomb (Nguyen imperial family mausoleum). Late afternoon boat ride on Perfume River, view Thanh Tra gardens, Van Mieu, Vo Mieu (32 steles). Sunset viewing. Overnight in Hue.

9. Day 9

   Da Nang - Flight to Saigon

   After breakfast, transfer to the airport, catch flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival, guide and driver pick up and transfer to city center. Visit Reunification Place with grand halls, furnishings, gardens. Explore French colonial Central Post Office. Late afternoon freedom to stroll Nguyen Hue Street, Saigon Opera House, browse antiques. Check in hotel. Overnight in Saigon.

10. Day 10

    Mekong Delta excursion

    Transfer to Ben Tre. Board moto-boat at Ham Luong dock, cruise Ham Luong River tributary. Visit local workshops—activated charcoal, dried coconut, coconut husk brooms, coir crafts. "Xe Lôi" motorized rickshaw tour, kayaking through tropical canals. Optional cycling/walking. Visit fruit plantation, sample seasonal fruits, relax in small boat. Sampan return to dock, back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.

11. Day 11

    Fly Back from Ho Chi Minh to London

    At pointed time, transfer to airport with our driver for your departure flight. End of services. (Hotel check-out time around 12.00.)
